Reflection Post

What was your biggest struggle during this project?

I think that our biggest struggle as a group was our challenges meeting together. Dude to family circumstances, health problems, and a variety of other hurdles I think we did a really good job working together separately whether that was actually on our own or working in pairs with another group member to accomplish a task.

What aspect of the documentary makes you most proud?

As one of the person that set up and filmed almost all of the interviews, I was proud of the quality of testimonies we received.

Truthfully I am surprised by the number of views we have gotten on our video in such a short amount of time. I initially thought that we would struggle to get to 1000 views but was pleasantly surprised by the number of people (2000+) that took the time to watch our video. I think that speaks a lot to the importance of CSF and makes me proud that our group got the chance to explore it and share it with our community.

What aspect of the documentary would you have changed?

I would have taken out the portion on the funding of CSF. The video would have been more powerful had it just been the testimonies and why it is an important part of campus so that it would have been more like the documentaries we watched in class before we began the project. I would have also worked to make it more visually interesting instead of a few people talking for long periods of time, although for the film we made it was effective. I

If you had 6 months to work on this project, what more could/would you have done?

I would have found more interviews of people who weren’t in CSF but were still affected by it as well as talked to more people who haven’t been to a CSF event before about their general opinion on it is and what they think it means to the campus without ever having been apart of it.

What aspects of the project were you personally responsible for? Please be specific as possible.

I was responsible for setting up/filming/and asking most of the interview questions that were present in the documentary. However, most of the interviews I procured didn’t make it into the documentary because many of the testimonies were very similar

We can all agree that group is frustrating. What did you do to try to promote a healthy group atmosphere? What more do you wish you had done to help the group?  Do you feel like you contributed a fair amount to the overall project?

Although I wasn’t always able to be present in class, I consistently asked my group members in what ways I could help them so that they knew I was willing and able to work on the project whenever and in whatever way was possible. Considering I ended up doing a number of things I didn’t originally intend on doing, I think I contributed a fair amount to the project as a whole. I wish I had been able to help Kendall more however with the editing because I know it’s a big job and she did a really great job.
